Missing Deposit: real deposit policies, and why each client is flagged

Missing Deposit can now require a real deposit — flat, a percentage of the service, or account credit — scoped to the services you choose, and the front desk is told why each client was flagged.

Set a deposit policy that matches how you actually book

Settings → Salon Settings → General now lets you require a deposit, not just a card on file — and set it up the way your salon really works.

Pick a Deposit type:

  • Flat amount — a fixed figure, e.g. $50.
  • Percentage of service price — a share of the booked service's menu price, so a full set asks for more than a fill.
  • Any account credit — the client just needs a positive balance.

Then choose whether it applies to all services or only the ones you select. Full sets require money down, fills don't — pick the services from a searchable list of everything your POS has synced.

Know why each client was flagged

The Missing Deposit section on the Front Desk dashboard now has a Why Flagged column. Instead of a list of names, you get the reason:

  • No credit card on file
  • Credit card on file is expired
  • Deposit $50.00 required — $20.00 on account

That's the difference between asking a client for their first card and asking them for a new one — and it means you can work the list without opening each profile.

An empty list now means an empty list

If the check can't complete, the section says so. It used to come back blank, which read as "everyone's covered" — the one thing you don't want a booking requirement to say when it hasn't actually run.
